I too agree that for Simon O'Connor to be expressing his personal point of view publicly when he is the Chairman of the Committee charged with 'investigating public attitudes towards the introduction of legislation which would permit medically assisted dying in the event of a terminal illness or an irreversible condition which makes life unbearable' is inappropriate. I am concerned that someone with such an established polarised view in a position of influence cannot fully "hear" the debate and provide impartial assessment and leadership.
